Sermon: Don’t Judge a Life by Its Cover

We’ve all heard the advice, “Don’t judge a book by its cover.”  Today, as we examine the blessings and woes Jesus lays out for us, we would be wise not to judge a life by its cover. There is so much more going on in people’s lives than meets the eye.  Our superficial way of looking at things often leads us to miss the profound ways in which God is richly blessing us, even, and maybe especially, in suffering, or when we lack an abundance of the things of this world.  So don’t judge a life by its cover.  Things are not always as they seem.
