Sermon: Take A Seat

Martha, Jesus says, is “anxious and troubled about many things” (Luke 10:41).  In other words, she has a lot on her mind and even more to do.  She is missing out on the “one thing necessary” due to being distracted with much serving.  She is engaging in what we would call today, multitasking, and as a result, she is stressed, inattentive, and preoccupied with the mundane.  In His admonition of her, Jesus invites her to take a seat.  He does the same thing for you here today.
