Sermon: The Bread that Gives Eternal Life | John 6:35–51 | I Am the Bread of Life

Jesus says, “I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever.” This is indeed good news! Imagine if that news got out into our community. We have a bread here in this place that brings eternal life, a cure for death, a bread that has the power to raise you to life from death. 
Well, the demand would be overwhelming. The crowds here at Trinity Lutheran Church would rival the crowds at major sporting events. People would be lining up for this bread for miles - trying to break down our doors to get it. People would be bringing their children and friends from miles to get this living bread from heaven. This is exactly what happens each Lord’s Day here in this place. 
Jesus gives us His very body and blood in, with and under bread and wine for the forgiveness of sins life and salvation! What else can we do but sing, “Thank the Lord and sing His praise tell everyone what He has done!”-----Trinity Lutheran Church, School and Child Care have been "Making Known the Love of Christ" in Sheboygan, Wisconsin and throughout the world since 1853 as a congregation gathering around God's Word and Sacraments to receive forgiveness and life everlasting. Sermon: The God Who is Able | Mark 6:45-56 | Jesus Walks on the Water

When you take a look around in this congregation, it doesn’t take much imagination to see a crowd like those on the shore of Lake Gennesaret. People who are tired and sick, hurting and struggling and in need of help. People who look defeated by the troubles of life and our struggles with them. But we are not defeated! We are not alone facing the stormy seas. We are not alone facing trials and struggles. We are ever alone. Jesus is with you. He never changes. He is the God who is able. He is able to create, able to keep, able to save. He will not pass you by. You are His.
