✝ Good Friday – John, The Gospel WriterJohn 19:25–37 | Behold the Lamb of God, Pierced for Us
On this most solemn day, we behold Christ crucified—our Savior lifted high upon the cross. In John 19:25–37, the Gospel writer gives us a deeply personal and eyewitness account of Jesus’ final moments. John stood at the foot of the cross. He saw the blood and water flow. He heard Christ’s final words and watched Him breathe His last.
“John, The Gospel Writer” draws us into that moment—not as distant readers, but as those who have been called to witness and believe. Through John’s eyes, we see the fulfillment of Scripture, the depth of Christ’s love, and the beginning of the Church’s life flowing from His pierced side.
📖 Key Takeaways
John’s Gospel gives us a firsthand witness to Jesus' death.
Scripture is fulfilled in every detail, down to the last breath.
From Jesus’ side flows life for the Church—blood and water, Word and Sacrament.

🌸 Easter Sunday – Not What Was ExpectedLuke 24:1–12 | The Women at the Tomb
They came expecting to anoint a dead body. Instead, they found an empty tomb, folded grave clothes, and two angels declaring, “He is not here, but has risen.” In Luke 24:1–12, the women who had followed Jesus were the first to hear the resurrection news—and it was not what they expected.
“Not What Was Expected” invites us to reflect on the many ways God surprises us with grace. The resurrection of Jesus overturns every earthly expectation. In place of mourning, we are given joy. In place of death, we receive life. And in place of fear, Christ speaks peace.
📖 Key Takeaways
The resurrection confronts our expectations and reshapes our hope.
God often works in ways we do not anticipate—but always for our good.
Like the women at the tomb, we are called to believe and proclaim.

🕊 Maundy Thursday – When Everything Old is New AgainLuke 22:7–20 | The Institution of the Lord’s Supper
On this sacred night, we gather with Christ in the upper room. The bread and wine—ancient elements of the Passover—become something entirely new. What was once a remembrance of deliverance from Egypt becomes a new covenant in His blood—deliverance from sin and death itself.
“When Everything Old is New Again” reminds us that in Christ, tradition is not discarded, but fulfilled. He takes what is old and makes it new—just as He does with us.
📖 Key Takeaways
Jesus transforms the Passover into the Lord’s Supper.
The old covenant gives way to the new covenant in His blood.
In Christ, we are made new—again and again.

📖 Expectations Meet RealityThe Triumphal Entry – Palm Sunday | Sunday of the PassionJohn 12:12–19
Have you ever had your expectations turned upside down? Maybe you thought the game would be an easy win—but it wasn’t. Maybe that meal looked great on the menu—but not so great on the plate. Maybe that photo your friend took—looked better before you saw it.
Palm Sunday is a moment when expectations collided with divine reality. The crowds expected a political liberator. What they got was the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Jesus entered Jerusalem not to claim a throne, but to embrace a cross. And in doing so, He fulfilled the mission that no one expected: to give His life for the life of the world.
Yet even after death, when the disciples expected grief, fear, and failure—what met them instead was the risen Christ. Peace, not panic. Life, not loss. Forgiveness, not fear.
Key Takeaway:✝️ God’s plans are often bigger than our expectations. What looks like defeat may be the doorway to eternal life.

🕊️ “Behold Your King!” — John 19:1–16 | Trinity Lutheran Church, Sheboygan, WIPontius Pilate stands at the center of one of the most profound moments in human history—confronted with the Truth incarnate, yet choosing compromise over conviction. What can we learn from his encounter with Christ?
Join us at Trinity Lutheran as we reflect on John 19:1–16, where Pilate, the Roman governor, becomes a reluctant and conflicted participant in the Passion of our Lord. Though he finds no guilt in Jesus, fear and politics prevail. What does Pilate's wavering reveal about the nature of justice, truth, and our own hearts today?
🔑 Key Takeaways

📖 Hope for Wicked TenantsLuke 20:9–20🕊️ Worship with us at Trinity Lutheran Church, School, and Childcare in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
Who crucified Jesus? It wasn’t just the Jews. It wasn’t just the Romans. The truth of the Gospel is far more profound—and far more personal. We are the wicked tenants in Jesus’ parable. We rejected the Son. Our sin placed Him on the cross.
Yet, the hope of the Gospel remains: God uses what is evil for good. In this Holy Week parable, Jesus foretells not only His own death but the radical grace that comes through it. The Son was killed—but not without purpose. Through His death, life is given. The inheritance we squandered is restored—not by our works, but by His wounds.
👁️‍🗨️ In this sermon, discover how Christ turns rejection into redemption and death into life. Though we are guilty, we are not forsaken. There is hope—for us wicked tenants.
✝️ Key Takeaways:The parable reveals the universal guilt of mankind in Christ's crucifixion.
God’s justice and mercy are fully revealed in Jesus' death.
The inheritance of eternal life is restored to us through the rejected Son.
