Christ’s Crucifixion is Still the Glory of God📖 Scripture Reading: Luke 9:28-36
Most of us have never stood 15,000 feet atop a mountain, but we’ve all had “mountain-top experiences”—those moments when we feel on top of the world, blessed beyond measure. Perhaps it was a graduation, a wedding, the birth of a child, or simply a cherished moment with a loved one. These experiences, however, are fleeting. Life on this temporary earth is full of highs and lows.
But in Christ, we are given a mountain-top experience that lasts for all eternity. In His Church—our Mt. Zion—we receive the greatest gifts: forgiveness, peace, life, and salvation through Jesus Christ. As we enter this Lenten season, may we, like Peter and the Apostles, bring our friends and family to this holy mountain to witness the fullness of Christ’s glory. “It is good to be here!”

Entrust Your Burdens to Jesus | Luke 5:1-11
Life is full of moments when we feel like Peter—exhausted, discouraged, and questioning why our efforts seem fruitless: “Master, we toiled all night and took nothing!” (Luke 5:5). We echo Isaiah’s lament: “Woe is me! I am a man of unclean lips!” (Isaiah 6:5).
In these moments of doubt and despair, the temptation is to give up. We long to trust Jesus at His Word, to try again, but the results often seem worse than before. Yet, when all else fails, we cling to what never changes—the Word of the Lord and His gracious promises.
Like Peter and Isaiah, we may hesitate to listen, but when we do, we find that Christ never fails us. He forgives, sanctifies, and restores. No matter how overwhelming our burdens, we hear His unshakable promise in the Divine Service:
🔹 "I forgive you all your sins."🔹 "You are my redeemed and holy children."
Join us as we rest in the certainty of Christ’s Word, where His grace is sufficient, His promises unbreakable, and His love unending.

In today's sermon, we see the power and authority of Jesus in action. The prophet Isaiah declared, “Your God reigns” (Isaiah 52:7), and we witness that reign in Luke 4:31–44 as Christ speaks with divine authority—casting out demons, rebuking sickness, and healing all who come to Him.
This is no reign of terror, but of love, joy, and peace. As we sang, “Come, O Christ, and reign among us” (LSB 842 v. 3), we rejoice that Jesus' authority is not just over nature and spirits, but over sin and death itself. The prince of this world has no claim on Him! Through His death and resurrection, Christ disarmed the forces of evil and cast out the ruler of this world (John 12:31).
Now is the day of salvation! Jesus, the King of kings and Lord of lords, reigns even now through the proclamation of the Gospel. His Word brings life, freedom, and restoration. Will you trust in His reign today?

Jesus Rejected at Nazareth | Luke 4:16–30
